Exploring Community Roles Through Play at Kidzania Jakarta

EY2 students of Sekolah Victory Plus, an IB school in Bekasi, learned roles of people at a restaurant setting at the Kidzania Jakarta.

On 15 April 2025, our EY2 students had a fun and educational excursion to Kidzania, where learning met imagination in the best possible way. Through this immersive early childhood education experience, our young learners explored the world of community by stepping into the shoes of real-life professionals. Located in the vibrant environment of Kidzania Jakarta, the experience allowed children to understand how different roles contribute to society.

Learning About Community Roles Firsthand

From being a firefighter, doctor, baker, to even a pilot, our early years students tried their hand at a wide range of professions during their visit to Kidzania. Each station at Kidzania Jakarta was a miniature version of real-world settings, giving children the chance to engage in role play that felt both authentic and exciting. This hands-on experience brought their classroom learning about community members to life in the most memorable way.

Hands-On Learning Boosts Confidence and Curiosity

The excursion to Kidzania was designed to go beyond observation—it was all about participation. As children made decisions, followed instructions, and collaborated with peers, they practiced essential life skills in a playful environment. Kidzania encouraged them to explore their interests and build self-confidence, a key element in high-quality early childhood education. For many, it was their first time independently engaging in real-world tasks, and they rose to the challenge with enthusiasm.

A Memorable Experience That Strengthens Early Learning

The EY2 excursion to Kidzania was a joyful learning journey that our students will remember for years to come. It showcased the power of play-based, experiential learning in Early Childhood education, especially within the framework of the Early Years curriculum. With every uniform worn and role taken on, our students developed a deeper appreciation for the people who help our communities thrive. What an enriching and meaningful experience!
