Igniting Passion and Preparation: Mini Exhibition at Sekolah Victory Plus

65% of children in the second grade will work in jobs that don’t even exist yet! The IB curriculum empowers students to understand themselves and choose a path that aligns with their interests and strengths, and develops their critical thinking and creativity. Students learn to express ideas, solve problems, take creative risks, and communicate complex messages, all of which are competencies that are vital in the 21st-century workplace. One way this is achieved is through Visual Arts, and more specifically, the Visual Arts (VA) Exhibition, which students organize themselves, and is a powerful reminder that their choices matter and shape their future.

The VA Exhibition acts as a bridge, connecting students’ personal interest in art with meaningful learning and self-expression. Last week, the Grade 11 Visual Arts and Music students of Sekolah Victory Plus, an IB school in Indonesia, hosted a vibrant exhibition showcasing their early explorations and creative processes. This mini exhibition served as a crucial stepping stone as they began preparing for their final assessment in the Diploma Programme (DP). It was a chance for students to not only share their initial concepts but also to learn from one another and gain valuable insights to refine their future work.

Showcasing Masterpieces and the Creative Journey

The exhibition highlighted the impressive range of student work, reflecting deep thought and artistic growth. Through mixed media paintings or digital compositions, the students demonstrated their understanding of artistic techniques and personal expression. This exhibition emphasizes how the IB school philosophy at Sekolah Victory Plus encourages inquiry and reflection. Particularly exciting were the collaborative pieces of contemporary artworks combined with visual arts and music.

“My collaboration with Bianca for this exhibition came from the belief that her nostalgic music helps people connect with my artwork, which explores themes of identity, memory, and childhood,” explained Glory.

A Community of Support at Sekolah Victory Plus

The success of the exhibition was amplified by the enthusiastic crowd. Parents, teachers, and fellow students filled the space, engaging with the artists, asking thoughtful questions, and offering supportive feedback. This spirit of encouragement is what defines Sekolah Victory Plus as a truly nurturing IB school environment. Visitors didn’t just view the works, they became part of the dialogue, reinforcing the importance of community in a holistic learning experience.

This exhibition demonstrates how the IB school culture at Sekolah Victory Plus fosters creativity, critical thinking, and real-world engagement. Interested in learning more about our Diploma Programme? Connect with us today to explore the opportunities waiting for your child.
