Learning Beyond the Walls: A Dynamic Start to the Academic Year

Students learned Sundanese culture by creating woven crafts with the locals.

Learning Beyond the Walls Week is off to a flying start. By stepping out of the classroom and into the heart of real-world experiences, our Grade 7 – 12 students embraced the spirit of learning beyond the walls in the best way possible.

Nature, Culture, and Connection

Our Grade 7 to 10 students explored the lush greenery of Sentul, the vibrant traditions of Bogor, and the creative energy of Cimahi. This learning beyond the walls experience offered more than just scenic views. They were filled with opportunities for teamwork, independence, and cultural understanding.

A Journey Through History

Through storytelling, architecture, and local interaction, our Grade 11 students took a day trip to Jakarta’s iconic Kota Tua. Walking the same streets as generations before them, they gained a deeper appreciation for Indonesia’s heritage. It was learning beyond the walls in action: immersive, reflective, and meaningful.

Service with Purpose

Meanwhile, our Grade 12 students delved into a purposeful journey to Yogyakarta as part of their IB CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) experience. They collaborated with local communities, explored social issues, and participated in cultural and creative projects, bringing learning beyond the walls to life in the most meaningful way.

Learning beyond the walls is not just a special event, it is a mindset we nurture throughout the year. We encourage our students to stay curious, be courageous, and embrace learning wherever life takes them.
