The first week of school set the tone for the year ahead. At Sekolah Victory Plus, students didn’t simply return to their classrooms. They stepped into new experiences, embraced new challenges, and formed new friendships through Learning Beyond the Walls, our initiative that transforms the world beyond the classroom into a place for meaningful learning and personal growth.
Grade 7 & 10 Leadership Camp: Growing as Future Leaders
For our Grade 7 and Grade 10 students, the new academic year began with a three-day leadership camp in Bogor. As part of Learning Beyond the Walls, the camp gave students the opportunity to step away from their daily routines and discover what it means to lead with confidence, empathy, and responsibility.
Through engaging leadership sessions, team challenges, and interactive games, students learned that leadership is more than taking charge. It is about listening, collaborating, solving problems, and bringing out the best in one another. Along the way, they reflected on their own strengths, challenged themselves to try new things, and built stronger connections with their peers.
Grade 8 Scout Camp: Learning by Doing
While the leadership camp focused on developing future leaders, our Grade 8 students experienced Learning Beyond the Walls through an adventurous three-day scout camp in Sukabumi. Whether building bivouacs, trekking through nature, learning to use a compass, setting up tents, or preparing meals together, every activity challenged students to become more independent and resourceful. Outside the comfort of the classroom, they learned to take responsibility, make decisions, and support one another through every challenge.
More importantly, they discovered that growth often happens when they are willing to try something unfamiliar. Every obstacle became an opportunity to strengthen resilience, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills, while every shared experience brought classmates closer together.
Learning Beyond the Walls in Action
At Sekolah Victory Plus, Learning Beyond the Walls is more than an annual programme. It reflects our belief that meaningful learning happens when students actively engage with the world around them. By experiencing real challenges, working alongside others, and reflecting on what they have learned, students develop the confidence and character they need for life beyond school.
As the 2026/2027 academic year begins, our students have already taken their first steps toward a year filled with growth. Through Learning Beyond the Walls, they have built friendships, discovered new strengths, and gained experiences that will continue to shape their learning both inside and outside the classroom.
